Description

The MicroBooNE detector is a liquid argon time projection chamber located along the Booster Neutrino Beam at Fermilab. One of MicroBooNE’s key physics goals is the measurement of neutrino-argon cross sections. Multi-differential cross sections are particularly valuable for exploring the underlying physics described by theoretical models, but are difficult to measure across a full kinematic phase space. The MicroBooNE detector’s fully active volume and high neutrino selection efficiency are leveraged to produce progress toward the first neutrino-argon triple-differential cross section. This measurement targets inclusive charged-current final states and is computed using Wiener SVD unfolding. A series of constrained goodness of fit tests are used to demonstrate the validity of MicroBooNE’s model in describing the distribution seen in data to ensure the accuracy of unfolding.
