Description

The purpose of this paper is to present a model for generating tools and materials for music composition from data and metadata. The model has been developed in Python1 3.9.10 on the Jupyter Notebook2 6.3.0 platform. The applied music language element hierarchy system is built based on the "weight" of each value in the dataset used in the musification. In this way, the resulting musical system correlated to a given metadata is constructed by stating a harmonic context derived from the repetition level of a note in the pitch set and the use of a rhythmic palette derived from the same source data set. The data processing capabilities inherent in Python, combined with the score creation and analysis tools of the music21 library, facilitate process handling and visualization, making the material generation and music composition process tangible. The present work focuses only on the generation of materials such as form, harmony, melody and rhythm, leaving the incorporation of timbre and dynamics for later development.
