Learning Object Metadata and discoverability of educational resources
Description
It is crucial for teachers to use appropriate learning resources to support student learning. Learning Object Repositories (LORs) provide a set of learning resources that are indexed so that interested parties can search and retrieve them. Learning Objects (LOs) are designed to reduce cost of learning content creation and enable their reusability.
Learning Object Metadata (LOM) provides a standardised way of describing learning resources. The use of taxonomies can support the categorization of learning resources at different levels and topics, so it can be more easily identified by stakeholders.
