Treatment of Systematic Uncertainties on the NOvA Experiment
Description
NOvA is a long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment using two functionally equivalent detectors over a baseline of 810 km. NOvA utilizes the NuMI beamline at Fermi National Laboratory, IL, USA to observe the observations of neutrinos and antineutrinos and make precision neutrino oscillation measurements. Key to these measurements are an understanding and rigorous treatment of the systematic uncertainties from many sources: neutrino interaction modeling, detector calibration and response, flux uncertainty, and others. Using the two detector model to constrain these uncertainties increases NOvA's sensitivity to the neutrino mass hierarchy, the mixing angle theta 23 and its octant, and CP violation. In this poster, I will present details of the systematic uncertainties affecting NOvA and how these uncertainties are evaluated for NOvA's latest neutrino oscillation results.
