Reactor Antineutrino calculations with CONFLUX
Description
The antineutrino flux emitted from nuclear reactors is important for measuring neutrino oscillations, probes of BSM physics with CEvNS and other interaction channels, and reactor neutrino applications. Over the past decade, significant discrepancies have been uncovered between the predicted and measured reactor antineutrino fluxes and energy spectra, motivating the need for new neutrino-based measurements, as well as a revisiting of nuclear datasets and an updating of prediction tools and products. CONFLUX (Calculation of neutrino flux) is a new software framework that aims to be a flexible and modular flux prediction package for both these communities. CONFLUX is being developed with standardized the input and output of our flux predictions, to increase the accessibility of reactor neutrino data, and to set a benchmark for reactor and neutrino data. The core of CONFLUX is built around three different prediction modes: Summation, Beta-Conversion, and direct reactor neutrino measurements. The comprehensive use of updated nuclear databases, as well as state-of-the art Beta spectrum models, allows users to perform sensitivity studies, evaluate the impact of new data, assess novel reactor types, carry out uncertainty quantifications, conduct BSM studies, and more. In this poster, we present the structure of the framework, the preliminary use of nuclear data, and the inclusion of correlated components in reactor neutrino flux prediction with CONFLUX.
