Description

SNO+ is a multipurpose liquid scintillator neutrino detector located 2 km underground in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. SNO+ has a rich program of neutrino physics including the study of reactor antineutrinos and geoneutrinos. We present the first detection of reactor antineutrinos in liquid scintillator at SNO+. Using 130 days of data, we extract constraints on neutrino oscillation parameters Δm221. Projections of the sensitivity to this parameter with increased livetime are presented. We also report the first use of time-based event classification to identify 13C(α,n)16O events, the primary background in this oscillation analysis.
