Studies of the CUPID-Mo detector performance using a dedicated 56Co calibration

Description
CUPID-Mo is a demonstrator for the next generation double beta decay experiment CUPID. The experiment was performed in the Modane Underground Laboratory with 20 Li2100MoO4 low-temperature scintillation bolometers enriched in the isotope of interest 100Mo. One advantage of 100Mo for 0νββ search is the very high Q-value (3034 keV) above most γ peaks. However, this induces a challenge in calibrating the detector and assessing the detector response (energy resolution etc.). 56Co is one possible calibration source with several γ rays with energies in the region of interest and above. In this poster we present the results of a measurement using two 56Co sources with an exposure of 18 days. The optimised position and activity of the sources were estimated by Monte Carlo simulations. In particular, this measurement allowed us to validate the energy calibration and resolution in the region of interest and to validate the Monte Carlo simulations used to build the background model of the experiment.
