The MaCh3 Oscillation Analysis Framework
Description
T2K is a long-baseline neutrino experiment located in Japan, with its primary physics goals being to precisely measure the oscillation parameters sin2θ23 and Δm232, and to constrain the CP-violating phase δCP. T2K has made several improvements to its oscillation analysis, including an improved neutrino interaction and flux model, new near-detector selections with proton and photon tagging, and the addition of a new, higher energy far-detector sample, providing a significant 38% statistical increase in neutrino-mode νμ-like events. T2K has three independent analyses that differ in their statistical and analytical choices. Of these, MaCh3 is unique in its application of a Bayesian Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) fitting method, and its ability to fit both near- and far-detector data and parameters in a unified joint-fit framework. This poster will explain the fundamental aspects of the MaCh3 fit, focusing on the extraction of oscillation parameter values using a joint-fit to near- and far-detector data, and present the latest T2K oscillation analysis results.
