Description
The publication aims to actualize the personality of Metropolitan Cyprian in Ukrainian medieval studies. Metropolitan Peter’s Hagiography, written by Metropolitan Cyprian, has never been published in academic collections of Old Ukrainian literary works and translated into modern Ukrainian; that has significantly hampered its research. Metropolitan Cyprian is an outstanding cultural figure, translator and writer of Late Middle Ages, who promoted Euthymius’ book reform on our lands; therefore, his oeuvre deserves a comprehensive study. Metropolitan Peter’s Hagiography is the culmination of Metropolitan Cyprian’s artistic heritage. The article’s novelty is in publication of Hagiography original text and its translation into modern Ukrainian.
