CHLORINATION OF BENZOIC ACID

Description
When benzoic acid is chlorinated with hydrochloric acid and potassium chloride two isomeric chloro-benzoic acids are obtained. These acids have been found to be 3: 4-dichloro and a 2:5 dichlorobenzoic acids.
