Description

Acampe joiceyana (J.J.Sm.) Seidenf., Nord. J. Bot. 22: 532, 2002

Basionym: Trichoglottis joiceyana J.J.Sm., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 26: 166, 1929. Type:—? MYANMAR. Possibly Tenasserim: imp. Sander s.n. (holotype: L).

Homotypic synonym: Staurochilus joiceyanus (J.J.Sm.) Seidenf., Opera Bot. 95: 96, 1988.

Heterotypic synonym: Acampe thailandica Seidenf., Contr. Orchid Fl. Thailand 13: 49, 1997.

Specimens examined:— ? MYANMAR. Type. MANDALAY. Myingyan District: 1200−1500 m, 30 Mar 2006, Khin Myo Htwe 102 (MBK [s], TNS, TNS [s]), fide Tanaka et al. (2011: 162); same loc., 12 May 2007, Tanaka et al. 051156 (MBK, TNS [s]). SHAN. Taunggyi District: 1250 m, 28 Feb 2014, Saw Lwin SL 34, photo.

Distribution:— Myanmar and Thailand.

Note:— Seidenfaden (1988: 96) speculated that the origin of this plant was Myanmar (as Staurochilus joiceyanus). He later described it as Acampe thailandica (Seidenfaden 1997: 49), which is now considered conspecific with A. joiceyana.
