Material examined. CHINA: Yunnan: 1 male (SWU), Mt. Yulongshan [玉龙雪山], Lijiang City [丽江市], 2800m, 22.VII.1984, Shu-Yong Wang leg.; 1 male (SWU), Lijiang City, 3000m, 19.V.1984, Rui-Qi Wang leg.; 1 male (KIZCAS), Yufeng Temple [玉峰寺], Lijiang City, 2700m, 6.IX.1983, Da-Zhi Dong leg.

Type material examined. Holotype of Eupolyphaga hengduana, male (SWU), CHINA: Yunnan: Lijiang City, 3000m, 19.V.1984, Rui-Qi Wang leg.

Diagnosis. See under E. xuorum sp. nov.

Redescription. Male. General: measurements (mm): body length: 17.8–18.2, overall length: 29.6–32.2, pronotum length×width: 4.5–4.8×7.9–8.9, tegmen length: 25.5–28.4. Size median to large; chestnut, tegmina maculated (Fig. 9 C–D). Head: dark chestnut. Interocular space moderate. Ocelli large, ocelli ridge slender, obtusely curved. Frons flat, slightly wrinkled. Antennae dark reddish brown. Clypeus flat; ante-clypeus yellow, narrow; post-clypeus dark chestnut. Labrum dark brown, with yellow pubescence, apex depressed. Maxillary palpi and labial palpi reddish brown (Fig. 14 Q–R). Pronotum: brown, anterior margin whitish yellow shortly, shape as fig. 14 P. Surface generally with small brownish pubescence, anterior and lateral margins setose. Shape narrow, transverse, margins rounded, apex slightly convex and truncated, lateral margins of apex slightly oblique, forming round angles with the lateral parts, lateral margins straight, forming a distinct angle with hind margin, hind margin slightly curved outward (Fig. 14 P). Tegmina and wings: extended the end of abdomen about 11.0– 12.1 mm. Tegmina hyaline, light brown yellow, densely with small, dim maculae, much denser toward the base of tegmina. Wings hyaline, dimly maculated, brownish, venation distinct. Legs: pubescent, dark brown; coxae and trochanters mixed with yellowish coloration; tibial spines dark brown, lighter toward apex. Abdomen: brown, darker toward the apex. Supra-anal plate well pubescent, median protruded, apex emarginated; two median sclerites small, weak; cerci long (Fig. 28 A). Subgenital plate narrow, brown for the exposed part, slightly asymmetrical, right portion larger than the left; styli slender, left one longer than the right (Fig. 28 B). Genitalia: weakly sclerotized. Left phallomere: L1 with anterior portion protruded, apex round, left with a short process; L2 weakly sclerotized, curved roundly, right with two processes, wrench like; L3 elongate, slightly curved, apex hook roundly bended, sharp; pda long, well developed, paa distinct, small bud shaped; L8 small. Right phallomere: large; R1M large, posterior portion robust, transparent; R1L slender, thin; R3 subtransparent; R2 distinctly divided into two parts, the outer one round, the inner one nearly quadrate, with four protruded corners (Fig. 28 C–D).
