Interaction of Montmorillonite Clay and Trace Element Cations. Dissociation of Co2+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ Ions from the Respective Clays at Different Degrees of Saturation
Authors/Creators
Description
A significant correlation has been shown to exist between the pH of the medium and the amounts of 'free' Co2+ and Ni2+ ions in Co-H- and Ni-H-clay suspensions. The regression analysis yields the equation .Y,=.14.232-2.797 X, where Y is the amount of Co2+ or Ni2+ in m.e./100g. and X is the pH with a correlation coefficient of 0.7602, signifleant at 0.1% level.
