Tricotylomania (Hair Pulling Disorder) and Hypnotherapy: Case Report
Description
Trichotillomania most commonly presents in early adolescence, with the peak prevalence between ages 4 and 17 years. Although the etiology of the disease is not fully known, finger sucking, anxiety and stressful situations, serotonin deficiency, structural brain abnormalities and genetic predisposition are emphasized. In addition to the standard treatment of the disease, hypnotherapy can also be used.
