Retention of 80mBr in (n,γ) Irradiated Bromates. Part III. Calcium Bromate Crystals

Description
The thermal annealing of bond ruptures caused by (n,γ) reaction in hydrated and dehydrated forms of the calcium bromate is studied. The rate and extent of annealing are found to be almost same in both the forms of calcium bromate crystals. The annealing reactions are found to obey a formal first order rate law with an activation energy of 2.7 kcal.
