Extensive solvent extraction studies of metals—transitional and non-transitional have been carried out in the author's laboratories. Both chelate and ion-association extraction systems have been critically investigated with respect to the relevant experimental parameters and numerous practical analytical procedure developed on the basis of such studies. The extraction equilibria for some of the important extraction systems have been studied which give an insight into the probable nature and composition of the extracted species. The review article summarizes the work done on equilibrium studies in TTA systems and extraction of metals with High Molecular Weight Carboxylic acids.
