Kow Swamp and Lake Mungo: towards an osteology of early man in Australia
Description
The recognition of cultural and physical variation among the Australian Aborigines by the first European intruders on the continent has been confirmed and detailed by scientific observations. Various morphological conclusions have been drawn from the apparent heterogeneity of blood genetic, osteological and superficial features of Aborigines. Similarly, variation in the skeletal remains of prehistoric Australians has led to varying hypotheses about their morphological derivation and subsequent history on the continent.
