Substituted ortho-hydroxy chalcones and acetophenone have been used as a co-ordinating ligand. The complex compounds of the ligands with Y(III), La(III). Pr(III) and Nd(lll) have been isolated and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses and from the thermolysis.
