Description

ANU Archaeological Consultancies was commissioned by the Public Works Department to conduct a test excavation and a site assessment of a shell midden at Shellharbour beach (Figure 1). This site was located by another consultant, Ms s. McIntyre during a preliminary investigation of the area for a proposed boatharbour and associated developments (McIntyre 1985). In addition to this site, McIntyre identified several locations which she suspected may be archaeologically sensitive. These were examined as part of this subsequent study. ...
