Description

This text aims to bring a theoretical debate about the educational model, as well as aesthetics and identities in order to design anti-racist pedagogical practices. Recognizing that historically Brazilian society has lived an ethos based on the power to control and punish, we find in the concept of the Foucauldian panopticon some developments in school daily life. In the course of this essay we will discuss three main topics, which will be dedicated to understanding the complexities of the Brazilian school model and its relations with the panoptic system under the aegis of the supposed racial democracy; listing the aesthetic and identity movements that promote flows of reflection and awareness about the situation of black women and men in Brazil, in order to put an end to weaving pedagogical possibilities related to imagery productions that try to unbalance the panoptic paradigm of Brazilian education. Taking for granted this discussion we will present some pedagogical provocations through imagery materials that can drive bodies and minds in the daily lives of schools to change.
