Gallium was quantitatively extracted with 0.08 M Amberlite LA-2 in xylene at pH 3.0 from 0.01 M malefic acid and stripped from the organic phase with 0.5 M hydrochloric acid and then determined spectrophotometrically at 510 nm with PAR. It was separated from large number of elements with either selective extraction or stripping. The most interesting separation was from aluminium, indium and thallium.
