≡ Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam., Tabl. Encycl. 1: 465. 1793.
Notes. – A specimen from the Japan herbarium is in G-PREL [G00818039]. It belongs to Stephania japonica (Thunb.) Miers. Two specimens are present in the Thunberg herbarium; one of them, collected by Thunberg from the Cape (UPS-THUNB n° 4422), is annotated as Convolvulus batatas.
