Description
Crematogaster (Acrocoelia) castanea Sm. v. tricolor.
(Gerstaecker). Gerstaecker, 1858, Monatsb. Ak. Wiss. Berlin, p. 263).
Je considere comme variete tricolor Gerst. celle dont la tete et le thorax sont nettement plus rougeatres que la base claire du gastre tandis que chez la var. castanea type, cette base est foncee, (obscure rufo-fuscus, comme l'ecrit Smith). La sculpture est identique. Cette var. est plus repandue a Madagascar qu'au Natal.
