Tylospilus armatus Thomas 1992

Distribution: Argentina and Uruguay.

Material studied (Fig. 12): Argentina: Buenos Aires: 4 males, 4 females, Bosq col., Bosq Coll., (MLP). Chaco: Resistencia: 27º 28´S 58º 59´W, 3 males, 1 female, 8/VI/ 1939, P. Denier col., P. Denier Coll., (MLP). Entre Ríos: Concordia: 31º 22´S 58º 2´W, 1 male, 1 female, 30/X/1932, (MLP). Santa Fé: 1 male, Bosq Coll., (MLP). Santo Tomé: 31º 38´S 60º 47´W, 1 female, 22/X/1932, Bosq Coll., (MLP). Uruguay: Banda Oriental: 1 female, Berg Coll., (MLP).

New records: Uruguay.

Observations: Head yellow to reddish with two black stripes between the eyes; disk of pro­, meso­, and metapleura each with pale yellow callus.
