Remarks. This species which was described by Cresson (1934) from Taiwan is recorded from the Chinese mainland for the first time. It is somewhat similar to Scatella obsoleta Loew, but may be separated from the latter by the epandrium with the long dense hairs at apex and the phallapodeme broad at apex in the anterior view. In S. obsoleta, the epandrium has the short sparse hairs, and the phallapodeme is narrow at apex in the anterior view (Olafsson, 1991).
