Desmopachria nigra Zimmermann 1923

Authors/Creators

Description

Desmopachria nigra Zimmermann, 1923

Incorrect original spelling: Desmopachria niger Zimmermann, 1923:33 (Nilsson 2001:217).

Comment: As the genus name Desmopachria is feminine, the inflection has to be corrected. The Latin adjective ' niger ' means black. The etymology is not stated explicitly in the original work. Nevertheless, there seems to be clear evidence that this adjective is meant: "An der glänzend schwarzen Färbung leicht zu erkennen" [= "Easily recognisable by the shining black colouration."].
