Description
Cathorops steindachneri (Gilbert & Starks, 1904)
Tachysurus steindachneri Gilbert & Starks, 1904: 29, Pl, 5 (fig. 9). Type locality: Panama (Pacific). Holotype: SU 7026. Paratypes: SU 7027.
Arius taylori Hildebrand, 1925: 250, fig. 10. Type locality: Río Lempa, San Marcos, El Salvador. Holotype: USNM 87224.
Distribution: Western Central America.
Countries: Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
Habitat: Marine, brackish and freshwaters.
Maximum size: 360 mm TL.
