21. Frisilia melanardis Meyrick, 1910

Trans. Ent. Soc. London, 1910: 446; Clarke, 1965: 59. TL: Borneo, Kuching. [BMNH].

Diagnosis. The species is one of the largest species of the genus. It is distinguished from its allies by the fringe of the forewing, with fuscous scales near apex, and the termen not strongly oblique.

Adult (Fig. 22, lectotype). Wingspan, 22.0 mm.

Male genitalia (Figs. 53, 53 a). See Clarke (1965: Pl. 30, Figs. 1 a–b).

Female genitalia (Fig. 64). The female genitalia are illustrated for the first time. Apophyses anteriores about 1/2 length of apophyses posteriores. Antrum funnel-shaped, short. Ductus bursae about 1.5x corpus bursae, with sparse conical spines. Corpus bursae ovate, large, with elliptical large zone bearing conical spines beyond half, an accessory bursa arising from the lower corner of the zone; signum round with spinules on upper surface.

Material examined. 1♂ (lectotype), Kuching, Borneo, JH. 2. 0 7, gen. prep. no. BM-8675, and additional three types are in the BMNH. A female specimen is deposited in the USNM.

Distribution. Malaysia (Borneo).
