Dinothenarus

Description

Key to species of Dinothenarus (s. str.) of America

1 Pronotum with reddish maculation on surface, and with golden-yellow setae distributed on most of pronotal disc; elytral humerus with a long lateral reddish mark; male with sensory peg setae on underside of paramere not arranged in “V” shape (Fig. 5). (Known from Canada and northeastern USA)...................... ...................................................................................................................................... - Pronotum completely black, with two pairs of patches bearing yellow setae (posterior patch less defined); elytral humerus without a long lateral reddish mark; sensory peg setae on underside of paramere forming a more or less regular group in “V” shape near apex of paramere (Fig. 2).
