Description

Chironomus daitobeceus Sasa et Suzuki, 2001b: 64, Fig. 2 a–j. [Holotype 412: 004.] Syn. nov. Polypedilum daitoneoum Sasa et Suzuki, 2001b: 76 –77, Fig. 19 a–n. [Holotype 412: 087.] Syn. nov.
Chironomus daitobeceus and Polypedilum daitoneoum have the following characters in common with P. nubifer (Skuse): body color dark brown; gonostylus short and thick; and superior volsella parallel-sided with rounded apex, inclined medially (Fig. 36). Accordingly, both species are considered as junior synonyms of P. nubifer.
