Namibostreptus Mwabvu, Hamer, Slotow & Barraclough, 2009, gen. n.

Description

Namibostreptus gen. n.

Type species: Spirostreptus kymatorhabdus Attems 1914

Etymology: Named for Namibia, the country of provenance of the type species (Gender: Masculine).

Diagnosis: Proplica length approximately half that of gonopod (Fig. 8 a). Apical proplica with an acute medial tip; proplica wide, with a concavity apically; distal metaplica with large proximal convex lateral lobe, short lateral process and short laterally deflected end process. Convex lobe extending beyond the lateral edge of proplica. End process of distal metaplica at approximately right angle with the short lateral process.
