Geographical distribution: endemic to the Neotropical region, occurring from Mexico to Panama. Material from Cuba: Matanzas, Ciénaga de Zapata, no date or collector, several specimens (KU) (Kuitert 1942)
Habitat: no detailed habitat data available; recorded from Cuba only by Kuitert (1942)
