Etymology. The specific name, to be treated as a Latin noun in apposition, is derived from a word in Portuguese and means a regional name for comb. This name refers to the slender projections present on the median apophysis.
Diagnosis. Males of Antillorena patapata sp. nov. differ from those of the other species of the genus by the straight and shorter retrolateral tibial apophysis (Fig. 8). The females are distinguished from those of the other species by the wider anterior portion of the median septum, which bears globose pockets (Fig. 9) and, internally, by the copulation ducts with three turns (Fig. 10).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 8.2. Prosoma 4.5 long, 3.0 wide. Carapace pear-shaped, brown, highest at the fovea region in profile (Fig. 1); tegument smooth and shiny. Chelicerae brown. Labium triangular, orange-brown. Endites orange-brown, apices white. Sternum brown, with median longitudinal yellow band, anteriorly truncated, posterior margin not projected between coxae IV. Legs with ventral face of coxae and femora yellowish green, other segments greenish brown. Abdomen oval with no spines, dorsally with a pattern of light median chevrons and dorso-lateral light spots, distally with a large light spot; laterally brown and ventrally pale on borders and brownish medially (Fig. 1).
