Coriomeris denticulatus (Scopoli, 1763)

Cimex denticulatus Scopoli, 1763: 125 (as new species); Cimex spinosulus Sulzer, 1776: 98; Cimex spinisomarginatus Goeze, 1778: 242; Cimex fimbriatus Geoffroy in Fourcroy, 1785: 202; Cimex immaculatus Gmelin, 1790: 2147; Cimex spiniger Schreckenstein, 1802: 52; Coreus pilicornis Burmeister, 1835: 309; Coreus wolfi Gorski, 1852: 148; Coriomeris denticulatus var. granulatus Cerutti, 1937: 169.

Distribution in Iran. Ardabil (Linnavuori 2007; Ghahari et al. 2010c), East Azarbaijan (Ghahari et al. 2010c), Guilan, Semnan (Linnavuori 2007), Isfahan (Linnavuori 2012), Kermanshah (Samin et al. 2011; Sakenin et al. 2010), Mazandaran (Wagner 1968).

General distribution. Europe, Near East, Transcaucasia, the Maghreb.

Comments. On Asteraceae, Boraginaceae, Fabaceae, Lamiaceae (Linnavuori 2007). This species was recorded on more than 20 plants and also is known to suck little dead vertebrates (Moulet 1995).
