Description

Omanocoris versicolor (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1841)

Gonocerus versicolor Herrich-Schaeffer, 1841: 58 (as new species); Ceratopachys variabilis Dallas, 1852: 502; Tliponius insignicornis Stål, 1860: 465; Homoeocerus anticus Walker, 1871: 92; Homoeocerus rosaceus Distant, 1902: 357.

Distribution in Iran. Fars (Seidenstücker 1957; Farahbakhsh 1961; Hoberlandt 1989; Modarres Awal 1997b), Golestan, Kerman, Mazandaran (Hoberlandt 1989), Hormozgan (Kiritshenko 1966; Wagner 1968, Hoberlandt 1989; Linnavuori 2004), Khorasan (Hoberlandt 1955; Wagner 1961; Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b), Sistan & Baluchestan (China 1938; Wagner 1968; Hoberlandt 1955, 1989; Seidenstücker 1957; Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997b).

General distribution. Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Oriental Region.

Comments. On lucerne (Medicago sativa) (Fabaceae) (Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b), and Prosopis spicigera (Mimosaceae) (Linnavuori 2004).

Note. This species was reported as O. variabilis from cotton fields in Iran by Farahbakhsh (1961).
