Distribution in China. Beijing, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hebei, Hong Kong, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Xizang, Yunnan, Zhejiang.
Host plants. Arundinaria sp., Bambusa blumeana, Dendrocalamus brandisii, D. minor, Indosasa levigata.

San-an Wu; 7ƤƤ, GUANG- DONG: Guangzhou city, on Dendrocalamus minor, 19 Oct. 2011, Coll. San-an Wu; 5ƤƤ, HAINAN: Wuzhishan city, on Indosasa levigata, 12-13 Aug. 1995, Coll. Shi-jun Wu.
Biology. Living in groups on stem of the host beneath leaf sheath.
Remarks. The record of C. bambusae by Tang (1992) on Phragmites sp. from Qian Qi of Nei Mongol (=Inner Mongolia) in China was a misidentification of Chaetococcus turanicus Borchsenius.
