Description

* Malvinema frederici Digiani, Sutton & Durette–Desset, 2003

Type host. Scapteromys aquaticus Thomas (Mammalia: Muridae).

Site of infection. Small intestine.

Type locality. Argentina, Buenos Aires Province, Isla Talavera (33º53ʹ18ʹ S, 59º03ʹ59ʹ W).

Holotype: 3 MLP 4691/2. Paratypes: MLP 4691/3 (allotype Ƥ) (cited as MLP 4691/1a), MLP 4691/4 (333, 6ƤƤ) (cited as MLP 4691/1b).

Remarks. Paratypes (13, 1Ƥ) in the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris, France. M. frederici was synonymised with Malvinema scapteromys (Suriano & Navone, 1996) Digiani, Navone & Durette –Desset, 2007 by Digiani et al. (2007).
