Ascarophis patagonica Brugni & Viozzi, 2008

Type host. Galaxias platei Steindachner (Pisces: Galaxiidae).

Site of infection. Stomach.

Type locality. Argentina, Rio Negro Province, Lago Moreno (41º05ʹS, 71º32ʹW).

Paratypes: MLP 5756 (433, 4ƤƤ).

Remarks. Holotype (3), allotype (Ƥ), and 10 paratypes (5ƤƤ, 533,) deposited in the Colección Nacional de Parasitología del Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales Bernardino Rivadavia, Buenos Aires, Argentina; 14 paratypes (7ƤƤ, 733) deposited in the Colección Parasitológica de la Universidad Nacional del Comahue, (Bariloche, Argentina); 6 paratypes (3ƤƤ, 333) deposited in the United States National Parasite Collection, Beltsville, Maryland.
