Material studied. Holotype male. SWEDEN, Sö, Södertälje, Tullgarns Näs, Rävslaviken, mixed forest next to a pasture, Malaise trap, 19.VIII.2004, Swedish Malaise Trap project (no. 7483 in SMNH). Paratypes. 9 males, Sö, Värmdö, Nämdö, Krokudden, Krokvik, spruce and pine forest, Malaise trap, 23.V–29.VIII.2009, D. Williams & T. Malm (no. 5118–5126 in MZH, PKHH and SMNH); 2 males, GERMANY, Bw, Oberbergen, beech forest, sweepnet, 28.V.2011, K. Heller (no. 7850 and 7854 in PKHH).

Description. Male. Head. Brown, antenna paler brown, maxillary palpus very pale brown. Eye bridge 3 facets wide. Face with 4–5 scattered longer and shorter setae. Clypeus with 1 dark seta. Maxillary palpus with 3 palpomeres; palpomere 1 longer than palpomere 3, palpomere 2 shortest; palpomere 1 with 1 long sharp seta, with a distinct dorsal patch of sensilla; palpomere 2 with 1 long sharp seta and 3–4 shorter truncate setae, palpomere 3 with 3–4 short truncate setae. Body of antennal flagellomere 4 3.0–3.9x as long as wide, the neck shorter than broad, the longest setae slightly longer than the width of flagellomere. Thorax. Brown, setae dark. Anterior pronotum with 2–4 setae. Episternum 1 with 6–8 setae. Wing. Length 1.5–1.9 mm. Width/length 0.40–0.45. R1/R 0.80–0.85. c/ w 0.80. r-m and bM subequal in length, or bM longer, r-m/bM 0.85–0.90, r-m with 1–2 dorsal setae, bM non-setose. Halter pale brown. Legs. Pale yellowish brown. Coxal setae dark. Front tibial organ in depression with vestiture in patch. Front tibial spur slightly longer than the tibial width. Abdomen. Pale brown, setae dark and strong. Hypopygium, Figs 4 A, B. Brown, concolorous with abdomen. Gonostylus with the mesial side strongly impressed; apicomesially with a few elongated setae; with strong apical tooth, with 2 apical megasetae, with 2 mesial megasetae at the apical half, the mesial megasetae long and slender, larger than the apical ones, all almost straight; with a flagellate seta between the mesial megasetae. Tegmen broader than long, with roundish sclerotized basolateral sides.

Etymology. The species is named after Miss Kajsa Klemhorn, Skogsby, Öland, Sweden for her invaluable help in making the sciarid material collected by the Swedish Taxonomy Intiative available to us.
