18. Stigmella hybnerella (Hübner, 1796)

Host-plants. Crataegus spp. in the Crimea; in other regions also Amelanchier spp., Cotoneaster spp., Sorbus spp.

Type of distribution (chorological group). West-Palaearctic; the species is widespread in Europe, also known from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan (Kopet Dag).

Material examined. CRIMEA: 6♂, 20 km SW Feodosiya, Karadag Reserve, at light, 30.vi–22.vii.1987, leg. R. Puplesis; 6♂, the same locality, at light, 28–29.vi.1988, leg. R. Puplesis; 1♂, the same locality, at light, 29.vi.1987, leg. Yu. Budashkin, genitalia slide no. AG 111♂; 1♂, the same locality, at light, 24.vi.1988, leg. Yu. Budashkin, genitalia slide no. AG 112♂; 2♂, the same locality, mining larvae on Crataegus sp., fieldwork cards No 4967, No 4968, leg. A. Remeikis & J. R. Stonis; 18♂, the same locality, at light, 23.vii–31.viii.2011, leg. J. R. Remarks. The species is common in the Crimea: widespread and very abundant.
