Polyptychus dentatus Cramer 1777
Description
Polyptychus dentatus (Cramer, 1777)
Plate 1, Fig. 11
Material examined. PAKISTAN, [Islamabad,] Margalla Hills, 21. ix. 2006, Amir Sultan; [Sindh,] Malir, Karachi, 29. ix. 1959, Sultan; as previous except 18. xii. 1959, A. Aziz.
Remarks. According to Pittaway & Kitching (2013), this species occurs in Sri Lanka, tropical India and tropical Pakistan. There is a single specimen in the BMNH labelled “Nepaul, W.W.S.” but it is unclear whether this refers to the country of Nepal or some other locality. Extensive collecting more recently has failed to discover 'another' specimen of P. dentatus from Nepal.
