Description

Key to the species of Albistyla

1) First abdominal tergite (T1+2) conspicuously large, over 3X length of T3. Mid tibia of male with apicoventral bristle longer than tibial width. Sternite 5 of male with a single pair of conspicuously large bristles extending over posterior lobes (Fig. 7)..................................................................................................... 2

- First abdominal tergite (T1+2) not greatly enlarged, 2X length of T3. Mid tibia of male with apicoventral bristle shorter than tibial width. Sternite 5 of male with only clusters of uniformly sized bristles (Fig. 2)................................................................................... Albistyla fimbriata new species. Costa Rica, Ecuador, Venezuela.

2) Mid tibia with mid and apical bristles ventrally............................... Albistyla occulta new species. Ecuador.

- Mid tibia ventrally with only apical bristle (Fig. 15).................... Albistyla spatulisterna new species. Costa Rica.
