Description

Eupithecia denotata (Hübner, [1813])

Geometra denotata Hübner, [1813], Sammlung Europäischer Schmetterlinge 5 Geometrae (1), taf. 88, fig. 455. Syntype (s) lost, [Europe].

Eup[ithecia]? denotata f. livida Dietze, 1910, Biologie der Eupithecien 1, taf. 72, figs 278, 279; ibidem (1913), 2: 92. Syntypes 3♂, 4♀ (coll. K. Dietze in MNHU, examined), [China]: Juldus (Yining) region; Ili.

Eupithecia pimpinellata f. limbosignata Dietze, 1910, Biologie der Eupithecien 1, taf. 72, fig. 285; ibidem (1913), 2: 119. Syntype (s) ♀ (coll. K. Dietze in MNHU, examined), [China]: Kuldja; [Kazakhstan]: Djarkent (synonymised in Mironov & Galsworthy, 2013).

This widespread species was recorded from Mongolia by Viidalepp (1975) on the basis of one female. This worn and dissected specimen is deposited in the collection of ZISP (Saint Petersburg). Mongolia: Tuv aimag.
