Description

Pythochandra bilobatus (Baker), stat. n., comb. n.

Pythamus melichari var. bilobatus Baker, 1923: 367 –368; pl. 2, fig. 13

Material examined. Lectotype ♀ (here designated, Fig. 1 A), 1♀ paralectotype, (fragmented): Sabah, “Sandakan, Borneo, Baker ” (NMNH).

Distribution. Sabah.

Remarks. This species was originally described from an unknown number of females from ‘Borneo, Sandakan (Baker)’. It can be distinguished by the dark brown spot on the mesopleura and forewings mainly hyaline in basal two-thirds of corium and brownish hyaline in distal third to near apex of wing. It is found in the same locality (Sandakan) as the next species. A full description of the female was given by Baker (1923). Further identification awaits the study of associated males.
