Oreochromis mossambicus (Peters, 1852) — Mozambique tilapia

STATUS AT MADANG. Reported from Madang by Parenti & Allen (1991: 319).

DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. Originally southeastern and southern Africa. Introduced worldwide into tropical freshwater habitats. Introduced, not native. Freshwater species, but tolerates higher salinity.
