Atractodes pleuripunctatus

Description

Key to females of Atractodes pleuripunctatus species-group.

(Males are unknown)

1. Median area of propodeum transversally strigose (Fig. 2 C). Postpetiole short, square (Fig. 2 C). Hind femur 6.3 × longer than deep. Sensillae of flagellum not conspicuously apparent (Fig. 4 A). Chile ..................... A. colchaguensis sp. nov.

-. Median area of propodeum strongly punctate (Figs. 2 D–E). Postpetiole long, rectangular (Fig. 2 E). Hind femur more than 6.7 × longer than deep. Flagellum with more or less conspicuous white long linear sensillae (Figs 4 B–C)................... 2

2. Tarsal claws with a relatively broad base, moderately long and abruptly curved at distal 0.4 (Fig. 4 E). Fore and mid coxae light orange, posterior coxa brown (Fig. 1 B). Ecuador ....................................... A. pleuripunctatus sp. nov.

-. Tarsal claws with a thin base, very narrow and long, apically as if stretched, evenly curved (Fig. 4 F). All coxae brown (Fig. 1 C). Ecuador ..................................................................... A. saragurensis sp. nov.
