A valid species, Ammophila aphrodite Menke, 1964 (Pulawski 2015).
Types. Ammophila afrodite Menke, 1964: 8, ♀, Ƌ. Paratype, ♀ " 8 mi. W Blythe Cal. Riverside Co. IV-9 1962 // R. M. Bohart Collector // Ammophila aphrodite A. S. Menke ". Paratype, Ƌ "Borrego Viy. San Diego Co. Calif. IV-11- 1962 // R. M. Bohart Collector // Ammophila aphrodite A. S. Menke ".
Type locality. USA: California.
Discussion. The holotype is preserved in UCD according to Pulawski 2015, whereas ZISP has two paratypes
