Subgenus Avaritia Fox

Avaritia Fox, 1955: 218 (as subgenus of Culicoides). Type species, Ceratopogon obsoletus Meigen (orig. des.). Refs.: Rodríguez & Wirth, 1986 (rev. of andicola group); Wirth & Mullens, 1992 (key to males and females in pusillus group).
