Material examined. ETHIOPIA: SNNPR, Bench Maji, Sheko Forest (1570 m), 13.IV.2015, B. Massa (1Ƌ, BMPC); Bench Maji, Sheko Forest (1340 m), 16.IV.2015, B. Massa (2Ƌ, BMPC); Bench Maji, Bebeka Plantation (1370 m), 14.IV.2015, R.P.W.H. Felix (7Ƌ, 5♀, RFPC), B. Massa (7Ƌ, 4♀, BMPC); Bench Maji, Dembi Forest (1260 m), 14.IV.2015, R.P.W.H. Felix (1♀, RFPC), B. Massa (1Ƌ, BMPC).

Distribution. This species is widely distributed in Africa south of the Sahara (Kevan & Chen 1969).

Habitat. At the Ethiopian collecting sites this species was associated with grasses and low herbs at lower elevations (Figure 2 c,d).

Remarks. According to Kevan & Chen (1969) our specimens belong to ssp. gerstaeckeri, based on its distribution. The total length of this ssp. should be much smaller, however, (Kevan & Chen 1969). On the other hand, the length mentioned in Mestre (1988) fits perfectly on the specimens in our collection.
