19. Argyresthia (Argyresthia) chiotorna, sp. nov. (Figs. 29, 98, 154, 210, 263)
Description. Adult (Fig. 29) wingspan 10.5̄14.0 mm. Head with vertex white, face white tinged with yellow. Labial palpus yellowish white, mixed with pale fuscous. Antenna with scape yellowish white, pecten yellowish fuscous; flagellum white, ringed with black. Foreleg with femur grayish fuscous, tibia and tarsus blackish fuscous on inner surface, tibia dotted with black near base, at middle, and on distal part dorsally, tarsus black on distal part of each tarsomere dorsally, remainder yellowish white; midleg pale yellow, tibia dotted with black at base and middle dorsally, tarsus blackish gray on distal part of each tarsomere dorsally; hindleg grayish white, tibia dark gray on outer surface of distal half, tarsus dark gray on outer surface of first tarsomere and distal part of tarsomeres. Thorax white; tegula golden fuscous. Forewing ratio 4.3; blackish gray; costa with black and yellowish-white dots from basal 1/5 to before distal 1/5, black dot at middle larger, with two yellowish-white spots before apex; small black spot at middle of cell, large diffused black spot before end of cell; blackish-fuscous streak below basal 2/5 of fold; dorsal band white, extending from base to end of fold; dorsal spot blackish-fuscous, rectangular, situated before end of fold; tornal dot black, an oblique white to yellowish-white strip above tornal dot; cilia yellowish white adjacent to white costal spots, black around apex, dark gray near tornus. Hindwing and cilia uniformly gray.
Male genitalia (Figs. 98, 154, 210): Tuba analis shorter than width of valva. Socius covered with 13̄16 scalelike setae, bearing two setae posteriorly (Fig. 210). Gnathos inflated distally, with five to nine long thick setae apically, rarely one setae. Valva elongate oval, widest before middle, dorsal margin slightly arched before middle, straight in distal half; with a clump of long thick setae in disc near ventral margin, distal area with a few similar setae. Saccus shorter than width of valva, with distal 2/3 linear. Phallus nearly straight, pointed or narrowly rounded apically, 3.9 times as long as width of valva (Fig. 154). Second sternite with about 14 micro-setae in each row; eighth sternite V or Y-shaped. Coremata present.
Female genitalia (Fig. 263): Ovipositor 2.7 times as long as eighth segment. Anterior apophysis 4/5 length of posterior apophysis, bifurcate at middle, branches fused, forming ventral margin of ostium bursae. Lamella postvaginalis hourglass-shaped or slightly rectangular. Antrum funnel-shaped, 4/9 the length of eighth segment. Ductus seminalis originating from before middle of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae oval, slightly concave laterally before middle, with dense denticles posteriorly; signum with basal plate wide and short, horns wide at base and narrowed to apex, curved inward beyond middle, convex medially on anterior margin, water caltrop shaped in general.

Distribution. China (Beijing, Gansu, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Shanxi).
Diagnosis. The diagnosis is given under A. (A.) hirsuta, sp. nov.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Greek prefix chio -, meaning white, and the Greek tornus, referring to the white to yellowish-white strip above the tornus.
